Entering Kwantlen University's Graphic Design for Marketing program four years ago, we were nineteen young and very naive individuals with one shared passion - to make pretty posters. Fortunately for us, and little did we know, we would get much more than we bargained for.

We quickly discovered that great design is the result of extensive research and strategic planning, and not our favourite font or colour. We became less selfish the day we realized we were designing for our clients and their audience - and not for ourselves. We no longer fear drafting creative briefs and have come to understand the interdependent relationship between graphic design and marketing. We may wear our hearts on our sleeves, but we know not to get attached - or worse - fall in love with our first idea. Through the support of our instructors, and collaborations with each other, perhaps the most important thing we will walk away with is to know how to keep an open mind.

Today, we may be less young and - dare we say - less naive, but we are more eager and more excited than ever to design! Along with those pretty posters, we want to create visual experiences that urge viewers to take a closer look.
